With a Plastic Lens Camera
Saturday, August 18, 2012, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
A toy camera with a plastic lens is a low-tech,
quirky, and fun alternative to digital imaging. Learn how to operate a Holga or
Diana, and to embrace the elements of chance and features such as light leaks,
vignette corners, and soft focus that are unique to these cameras. Students
will leave the workshop with knowledge of the artistic possibilities afforded
by these cameras and with new ideas of how to incorporate them into their own
creative work. We encourage students to bring their own Holga/Diana or other
plastic cameras, though not required. A variety of cameras will be available
for each student's use and experimentation.
